Antique Peking Shabby Chic Chinese Rug 5' X 7'7

This austerely elegant rug was woven in Peking during the revival of Chinese carpet manufacturing. The ivory field has fine dark blue Shou characters. The Shou is a symbol of good luck. The extremely bold fret main border is a figure-ground reversed in ivory and two blue shades. Although the color palette is narrow the minimalist impact is huge. The condition Shabby Chic solid but with low pile in areas and there are no repairs to interrupt the even field colors.
